Valmet, a leading global developer and a supplier of technologies and automation systems for the paper and pulp sector, has announced that it will deliver a complete Advantage DCT 100HS tissue production line to Algerian paper company Faderco, which specializes in the manufacture of hygiene products.
Seemingly, the order also consists of a rewinder machine and a wide-ranging automation package with solutions for quality and process control. The order will come under the orders received by Valmet in the first quarter of 2019. The value of the order will not be revealed.
Sources familiar with the matter informed that the new production line will be installed at the mill of the company, Warak, in Setif, Algeria. The line would start operations in June 2020. Previously, Valmet had supplied an Advantage DCT100+ tissue line to the company’s mill which started up in 2015.
Apparently, this new tissue line will meet Faderco’s requirement of new capacity for tissue products. The Warak mill presently manufactures sanitary napkins, tissue paper, baby diapers, and adult diapers for the local market and neighbouring countries.
The new line of production will help Faderco in consolidating its position as the Algerian leader in the segment by achieving 35% of market share in 2019, sources commented. Along with this, an addition of 30,000 annual tons suggests Algeria could become an exporter rather than being an importer of tissue products.
Sources added that the novel tissue machine line will have a design speed of 2,000 meter per min and a width of 2.8 m. It will also add 30,000 tons tissue paper capacity every year to current production of tissue products at Faderco.
In addition, the tissue machine will supposedly be equipped with a cast alloy Yankee cylinder, the AirCap hood, the Advantage technologies ViscoNip press, an OptiFlo II TIS headbox, and WetDust dust handling systems, along with a F(O)CUS Rewinder machine with its exceptional ENS technology.
