The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has claimed the lives of over half a million people and affected more than ten millions around the world. As the current situation is worsening, many world events as well as the opening of theme parks have been canceled or postponed in order to reduce the spread of the COVID-19.

Recently, Universal Studios Japan, a theme park with a collection of world-class entertainment, has reportedly announced that it will postpone Nintendo-themed area opening that was planned to open this summer. Theme park authorities will make a formal announcement as soon as possible with updated information regarding the new schedule.

According to sources, Universal Parks & Resorts and Nintendo Co. had joined forces in 2015 to develop Nintendo-themed areas within Universal Studios theme parks across the globe. The theme park is anticipated to attract visitors to popular amusement destination and increase awareness of Nintendo’s most popular game characters, accelerating sales of its game software and consoles.

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has also forced the IOC (International Olympic Committee) and Tokyo Games organizers to postpone the 2020 Games for at least one year as the coronavirus spread closing down global sports events.

On the other hand, Disney Theme Parks in Florida has announced that it will open the Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom for business on July 11th. Moreover, Epcot and the Hollywood Studios of Disney will also open for business from 15 July.

According to sources, Disney also announced plans to open its resorts to accommodate resort visitors. The company announced a phased reopening plan for its resorts in Orlando. The visitors will face several changes in services like a new system of reservations and no park reservations.

At that time, Disney said in the statement that it will continue to evaluate the current situation and reopen more parks at the appropriate time.
