Teleste, a Finnish tech company that offers data communication networks and services, will reportedly be delivering an on-board solution to electrical multiple units (EMU) of Stadler in Sweden, designed for the Public Transport Administration Stockholm. The deliveries are expected to start in 2019 and the deployment shall include an on-board solution for 22 EMUs. The agreement has an option to add another 45 EMUs.
Apparently, the EMUs will be operating on the Roslagsbanan route that connects both the northern and eastern regions of the Swedish capital. Teleste’s solution provides smooth integration between both central video and on-board surveillance systems in order to accelerate the responsiveness and offer passengers with a secured traveling experience during the 65-kilometer route.
According to reliable sources, the company has enabled a camera view of 24/7 access on each vehicle and a dependable storage of video streams via video recorders and indoor security cameras.
Furthermore, the solution also enables the integration of on-board systems with the PubTrans database. The database helps to make timely and correct travel information for schedules, routes and events that ensures that the public transport runs effectively and smoothly.
Accessible real-time information can simplify public transport for passengers who will be able to plan and complete their journeys effectively and conveniently.
Seemingly, the deliveries made to Stadler will be including TFT LCD and LED information displays with excellent readability. Deployment of the external and internal video surveillance of trains, public address, emergency calls, driver panel and passenger counting including the Ethernet network for every EMU will take place.
Teleste will provide a combined product and service portfolio which helps it build and operate an improved networked society. The company has strong industry experience and a significant drive for innovations as it leads as an international company in security, broadband and information technologies, besides other related services.
