Global provider of converged cloud and 5G infrastructure, Rapid.Space has recently announced its foray into the Japanese market in partnership with Nexedi KK, which is Europe’s largest open-source/ free software publisher.

The company currently has over 200 points of presence across the globe and intends to offer the benefits of its open architecture to one of the world’s most technologically developed economies.

For the record, Rapid.Space is a unique high-performance hyper-open cloud provider created by Amarisoft and Nexedi to build an international cloud infrastructure.

The company strives to become a front runner in the next-gen cloud computing infrastructure development, by providing open architecture constructed with the help of open hardware & software as well as open services.

Via its new Japan zone, Rapid.Space will provide its high-performance virtual machines ‘VPS’ (USD 231 /month for 20 cores, 256 GB RAM), the ‘VPSBrute’ (USD 586/month for 64 cores, 256 GB RAM), and acceleration through its SDN (software-defined networking) and CDN (content delivery networks).

The cloud provider plans to target Japanese customers who either have high computational requirements or are looking for secure and reliable methods to make content available across the world.

Moreover, the expansion to Japan also marks another extension to Rapid.Space’s global mesh by adding new routes and points of presence that optimize real-time traffic transfer based on throughput and latency.

Notably, local providers will be able to grow by joining the company’s global cloud and purchasing their hardware or enabling compatible machines in the network with the help of Rapid.Space’s detailed handbook.

By creating a hyper-open cloud that is also accessible to external providers, Rapid.Space hopes to build a cloud infrastructure and global network that can give established providers a run for their money by combining smaller ‘clouds’ on open and independent architecture.
