Illinois Interactive, a company of NIC, is selected to team up with Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to offer an improved licensing system that will facilitate modern technology for fishing and hunting licenses, boat and watercraft renewal and registration, and campground reservations.
This new strategy will aim towards creating a user-friendly experience for people who hunt and fish around Illinois or frequently visit the state’s IDNR managed sites and waterways.
It will also include lifetime user accounts, since first transaction for every client, which can be utilized for all IDNR services – recreational vehicle registration, fishing, hunting and campground reservations. The solution uses responsive design model so patrons could utilize it on any device.
NIC’s Vice President of Outdoor Recreation, Sandi Miller stated that the company looks forward to expanding its outdoor recreation services to help the active outdoor community of Illinois. Miller added that it is a part of company’s aim to make state facilities more accessible by digital government services, which will make enjoying in Illinois’ great outdoors easier.
Clients can expect the launching of new solution in first quarter of 2021. Presently, one of six licenses for hunting is sold via an NIC system in the country. NIC is the foremost provider of outdoor recreation transactions, now with this collaboration, NIC will be processing approximately 18 million transactions of outdoor recreation yearly.
NIC also offers outdoor recreation as well as payment solutions across 13 states, including Alabama, Wisconsin, Mississippi and New Jersey.
