Minsait and Google Cloud recently announced a partnership to collectively offer sovereign cloud solutions to public and private sector organizations in Spain. This will accelerate their digital transformation with the highest levels of security, trust, privacy, and sovereignty.
Minsait will share its expertise in security services, external encryption key management, cloud infrastructure management services, data center auditing as well as local support.
Google Cloud will provide agility and flexibility of public and hybrid clouds that are based on open-source technology, enabling Spanish companies to innovate independently. Google Cloud will encrypt the data at rest as well as in transit. It will also make data location accessible in a Google Cloud region that is set to open in Madrid in 2022.
Public and private sector organizations in Spain will be able to reduce their carbon footprint, as they will benefit from efforts and investments that Google is making in sustainability and carbon-free energy, providing the cleanest cloud in the industry.
Notably, Minsait and Google Cloud will offer sovereign cloud solutions to organizations in Spain across various sectors like healthcare, public transport, automotive, government, and more.
The joint initiative was lauded by the Secretary of State for Digitalization & Artificial Intelligence of the Ministry of Economic Affairs & Digital Transformation.
According to sources, Google Cloud and Minsait have a long partnership history in Spain. The companies had announced a global strategic partnership last May, in line with their commitment to innovation and digitization of the Spanish economy. The alliance was aimed at offering products and services for the digital transformation of companies as well as government institutions.
It is also worth noting that the AI Lab in Granada, which is one of the pioneering Artificial Intelligence centers in Europe, was introduced by Minsait in collaboration with the University of Granada, and Google Cloud as a technology partner.
