Lyft has now become the second-largest ridesharing company in the U.S., however, it is facing tough competition from market giant Uber. The company is focused on running a socially and environmentally responsible business while building its human-to-human connections.
Reportedly, Lyft earlier came out with a subscription pack known as the All-Access Plan, which charged a monthly subscription of $299, offering 30 rides with each ride priced at $15. However, in a bid to further simplify the All-Access Plan, Lyft recently came out with its new membership plan, dubbed ‘Lyft Pink’, for users who crave discounts on scooter and bike rides, car trips and other exclusive offers.
As per reports, the new membership plan would cost $19.99 a month and would offer a 15 percent discount on every car ride. According to Lyft, its latest plan would replace the previous All-Access Plan and would provide its All-Access subscriber with an enrollment offer on the new membership service.
Moreover, the new membership plan, along with offering a 15% discount on every car trip, will provide three complimentary scooter and bike trips each month. Members can also enjoy surprise upgrades and discounts, priority pickups from the airport and the occasionally reduced fee for lost-and-found returns or cancellations.
The company claims that the membership service would be very lucrative for those users who book two to three rides a week.
Reportedly, in 2018, Logan Green, CEO, Lyft said that subscriptions were the future of their company and they are going to move the entire industry from ownership based to subscription based services.
Sources claim that the appeal of a subscription plan is strong for a company like Lyft, which follows larger rival Uber. Moreover, the move comes at a time when Uber and Lyft are struggling to earn a profit after bad public offerings recorded this year.
