Global cybersecurity innovator LogPoint has recently announced that it will buy SecBI, a major player providing cybersecurity automation and advanced threat detection services. The acquisition is expected to enhance LogPoint's capabilities by bringing in playbook-based automation that augments cyber threat detection and response.
SecBI's universal XDR and SOAR platforms will be integrated natively with LogPoint to carry forward the company's mission to transform customer cyber resiliency by streamlining the daunting task of security operations using innovation.
LogPoint CEO, Jesper Zerlang was quoted saying that the collaboration will bring tremendous value to existing and potential customers of the company.
He further added that the combination of SecBI with LogPoint UEBA and SIEM will provide solutions that will help companies of all sizes to reduce cyber threats and become more efficient at protecting their businesses.
LogPoint will also take a step forward in solving the cybersecurity challenges faced by SOCs. The acquisition will allow users to reduce the occurrence of false positives and automate their incident response.
Notably, SecBI SOAR and XDR technology will also organize threat remediation workflows, automate routine tasks, and prioritize, investigate, and execute playbooks that reduce human involvement.
CEO of SecBI, Gilad Peleg reportedly stated that the company’s technology will enable LogPoint to take automation to the next level and address the difficulties faced by firms and cybersecurity analysts in managing the rapidly rising number of incidents.
The acquisition will be subject to customary legal approvals and regulations and is estimated to be completed by the third quarter of 2021. Upon completion, SecBI will be integrated into LogPoint's brand and will go by the name LogPoint Israel, while remaining based in Tel Aviv.
Most of SecBI's owners, including its lead-investor Jerusalem Venture Partners, will become shareholders in LogPoint and join existing investors Evolution Equity Partners and Digital+ Partners.
