Elastic N.V. will focus on enabling its customers in Japan to adopt cloud computing.
Elastic N.V., a search company that builds self-managed and SaaS offerings, has recently announced that its search engine Elasticsearch Service is now available in Tokyo. According to reports, the move would mark Elastic Cloud’s first Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in Asia Pacific, following four other GCP regions worldwide.
Speaking on the move, Tom Kawasaki, General Manager, Elastic Japan, said that the cloud is very important for SMBs and large-scale organizations in Japan as companies streamline their IT environments from on-premises data centers to deploy applications and services in public clouds.
He added that the new GCP region in Tokyo will enable Elasticsearch Service to give Japanese customers a SaaS-first solution for logging, search, business analytics, APM, security use cases, infrastructure monitoring and more.
Reportedly, the Elasticsearch Service on Elastic Cloud is an official hosted Kibana & Elasticsearch Service developed & supported by Elastic. It is also the company’s primary product that includes powerful capabilities like Elastic SIEM, Canvas, Elastic APM, machine learning, Elastic Maps and more.
These features, in integration with operational accessibilities like zero-downtime upgrades, same-day availability of new versions and security patches, pre-configured hardware templates for trending use cases, and support from Elastic, makes Elasticsearch Service a popular option for users searching for a managed Elasticsearch offering.
As per a statement, Yusuke Hasegawa, CEO and President, Grasys Inc., said that their firm, as a partner to both GCP and Elastic, is delighted to use Elasticsearch Service in the GCP Tokyo region. He said that the announcement will greatly be appreciated by gaming and other industries.
According to reliable sources, Elasticsearch Service will be a Managed Partner Service (MPS) which can be found in the main GCP Console where Google services are maintained. Moreover, the company is looking to launch its next GCP region in Sydney, Australia.
