Dubber, a cloud call recording service provider, has signed a deal worth USD 6.6 million to acquire Notiv, a Brisbane-based technology group.
Notiv, previously owned by Pinch labs, develops products based on cloud-native artificial intelligence (AI) designed to convert meetings into transcribed notes, signals, summaries, actions, and more.
The integration of Dubber and Notiv is likely to expand the reach of Notiv’s offering to a global customer base and let the Notiv team develop a constant flow of revenue-generating services for Dubber’s target market.
Steve McGovern, Dubber CEO, expressed that they welcome the team of Notiv to Dubber along with their AI and data science expertise, and see the teams working together to build the core Dubber AI Labs for advancing future AI capabilities.
The CEO further added that with Notiv, Dubber will now be in a position to automatically take notes and create action items on every call and that they are confident that their telecommunications carrier and service provider partners will have immense potential for profitable value-added services for their customers.
The deal comprises USD 5.15 million in cash, with the remaining amount to be paid in 386,277 fully paid ordinary shares of Dubber at a deemed issued price of USD 3.75.
Notiv also has a U.S. base in California which will be available to Dubber Foundation Partners, certain service and solution providers, and sold along with other Dubber solutions for businesses and government.
It is worth noting that Dubber obtained CallN, its Australian-based competitor for USD 1.17 million, in May 2020. In December of the same year, it launched a global partner program for Cisco and its resellers for supporting the company’s Unified Call Recording (UCR) and Voice AI solution available on prominent Cisco voice platforms.
Dubber claims to have a global network with over 150 service providers to date.
