Apple Inc. has recently announced the launch of the new Apple Business Essentials, an all-round service that provides device management, iCloud storage, and 24/7 Apple Support.
The service will be available in easy subscription plans for small business owners who employ up to 500 people. The tech giant also revealed the new Apple Business Essentials app will allow employees to install work-related apps on their devices and request support.
Available in beta, Business Essentials supports small businesses throughout the device management life cycle - from device setup and upgrades to employee onboarding, and provides prioritized support, strong security, as well as data backup & storage.
Speaking about the new offering, Susan Prescott, Apple’s VP of Enterprise & Education Marketing, stated that small businesses are at the core of the economy, and the company is proud to play a role in helping these companies achieve their best.
Business Essentials provides a simple setup procedure and onboarding with Collections. Collections enable IT personnel to customize settings as well as apps for individual employees, teams, or devices. Furthermore, the service provides excellent security coverage, as IT managers can set up important security settings like FileVault for Mac, and Activation Lock to safeguard devices that are lost or stolen.
Apple Business Essentials also include a dedicated iCloud account which automatically backs up business data, making it easy to switch between devices or even upgrade to new ones.
Lastly, in terms of subscription, a set of three Business Essentials plans will allow small businesses to cover every device and employee in their organization. Plans can be customized to support each user and can be priced as low as USD 2.99 per month, with optional AppleCare+.
The service has been made available as a free beta in the United States and will be fully available from spring of 2022.
