American e-commerce giant, Amazon is reportedly in talks to introduce more than 600 new corporate and tech jobs in Dallas as it expands its Tech Hub in North Texas. The move is part of the company’s national expansion plan in states like Denver, Detroit, Phoenix, San Diego, and New York, where it plans to create over 3,500 new jobs.
According to reliable sources, DFW-based teams would support a range of Amazon businesses such as Retail, Amazon Devices and AWS in a brand-new 100,000-square-foot facility in Galleria Dallas. The team intends to leverage the power of machine learning to scale principal architects and cloud infrastructure that would further adopt transformational solutions, thereby boosting the benefits of 5G connectivity.
Amazon claims that it still has nearly 130 open corporate and tech roles in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Over the past decade, the e-commerce company has managed to create over 43,000 jobs and has invested nearly $16 billion in communities across Texas. This has added an extra $18.8 billion to the Texas economy.
Speaking on the move, Alberto Bayarena, Site Lead of Dallas Tech Hub, Amazon, said that the company is delighted to bring 600 new jobs to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, contributing to its rich relationship with the region where it has already created thousands of job opportunities over the past few years across its logistics infrastructure and tech offices. The company is drawn to this area as it has a rich pool of highly-skilled and innovative workforce, said Bayarena.
Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, commented that the state has always been the leading region for technology exports owing to the strong presence of elite companies such as Amazon that continue to expand their operations in the area and create more jobs for locals.
